Rainie Grant is a transplant from rural Indiana and was often asked about her “Southern accent” during her first years in Indy. After two years serving as an Interfaith Enrichment Corps AmeriCorps Member with the Center for Interfaith Cooperation, she joined the John Boner Neighborhood Centers in 2020 as Community Builder, facilitating implementation of the Near Eastside Quality of Life Plan through the difficulties of the COVID pandemic. Rainie holds a bachelor’s degree in political science, French, and religion from Butler University and a master’s degree in philanthropic studies from the IU Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. She is a trained community organizer, passionate about mental health and disability, right to high quality education, immigration, and housing for all. Rainie currently serves as the Community Engagement Manager for IndyEast Promise Neighborhood.
