James Taylor serves as Chief Executive Officer of the John Boner Neighborhood Centers, a role he has held since 1998. A lifelong advocate for social justice and equitable community development, James has led the transformation of the organization from a $1.4 million operation to a nationally recognized hub for innovative, neighbor-centered programs with almost 140 staff. Under his leadership, JBNC has driven major initiatives including the Near Eastside Quality of Life Plan, the $154 million Legacy Project in partnership with the 2012 Super Bowl Host Committee, and the development of the Boner Fitness and Learning Center. He also co-led the redevelopment of the historic P.R. Mallory Campus and played a central role in launching the IndyEast Promise Zone and Eastside Economic Mobility District—efforts that have brought hundreds of millions in investment to the Near Eastside. James holds degrees in Social Work and Psychology from Ball State University and a Master’s in Social Work from Indiana University. He serves on several local and statewide boards and was recognized with the Michael Carroll Leadership Award by Prosperity Indiana in 2016.
