It’s never too early to start saving to college! By attending kindergarten at an IndyEast Promise Neighborhood school you and your scholar have a unique opportunity to start saving for college now through an Indiana Direct 529 account!
IndyEast Promise Neighborhood will fund the first $100 and continue adding $50 each year until your child finishes 5th grade!
Who is eligible?
This program is open to any incoming kindergarten student at Brookside Elementary School #54, James Russell Lowell Elementary School #51, KIPP Indy Unite Elementary School, Thomas Gregg Neighborhood School, and Washington Irving Elementary.
*Participants are only eligible as long as their child attends one of the IndyEast Promise Neighborhood Promise Schools listed above and are enrolled in the IndyEast Promise Neighborhood Initiative.
How it Works...
Throughout the fall semester, John Boner Neighborhood Centers Financial Success team members will be on-site at your school to facilitate workshops, offer enrollment events, and provide financial coaching to parents/guardians of current kindergartners. This effort will ensure that you have the tools and information needed to set up an Indiana Direct 529 account during the enrollment period in the spring. Parents will work with JBNC financial coach to sign-up for the program. It’s that easy!
