Our Focus
Empowering Families, Strengthening Futures
Recognizing that readiness for college or a career begins well before high school, the IndyEast Promise Neighborhood invests in proven, family-centered strategies that strengthen both student and caregiver outcomes.
By connecting families to wraparound services, financial planning resources, family navigation, and asset-building opportunities, Learn in Community ensures that every child has a strong, stable foundation for future success.

Whole Family Support
Whole Family Support, also know as 2-Generation Support, focuses on helping both parents and children succeed together by providing resources and opportunities for growth. This approach recognizes the strengths of each family member and works to support their individual and shared goals. By offering services like job training, education support, and parenting resources, it helps families build a strong foundation for long-term success. This holistic support helps families overcome challenges, develop new skills, and create pathways to better opportunities, all while strengthening family bonds.

Edna Martin Christian Center
Family Success Program
Edna Martin Christian Center works with both parents and their children, understanding that lasting success must include the whole family. Working together, we walk alongside families as they seek to gain skills and access to resources in order to achieve their goals in school, work, and life.
Out of School Time
Out-of-school opportunities are important for helping young people grow and develop. Activities like after-school programs, sports, and arts allow students to explore their interests, build new skills, and gain valuable experiences outside of the classroom. These programs help youth develop important qualities like leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving while boosting confidence and creativity. Engaging in out-of-school activities can keep students motivated, improve their schoolwork, and prepare them for the future.
The IndyEast Promise Neighborhood has partnered with a variety of organizations to provide this vital opportunity for scholars in the neighborhood.

The Leadership and Legacy program includes STEM learning, college readiness, and civic engagement for grades 1–8, with a Saturday academy for middle school students. The Summer Employment Program offers paid roles for teens ages 15–18, combining mentorship with valuable job experience. Programs help youth build confidence, skills, and a vision for their future.
Dreams to Scholars
The Dreams to Scholars 529 Program is an initiative by IEPN that helps families save for their children’s education through 529 College Savings accounts. These accounts, which are sponsored by state agencies, allow families to save for expenses like tuition and books.
Kindergarteners that attend a Promise School are eligible to sign-up for the program which once they create a 529 account will receive an initial deposit giving their savings a head start. The program also offers workshops on financial literacy and the importance of saving for education.
